Saw a bat at an auction yesterday.....it was a "bring the wood" saints bat for Darren Sproles that had something about his NFL all purpose yards record and it was autographed.....buy now price was 2K......imo its not worth anywhere near that......anyone got any reasons on why it actually might be???......Is it worth me dropping 5 bucks to try to win the raffle?

I remember Payton giving the team bats one year before or after a big game, not sure what year or game though. I would assume these were given at the end of that season too...possibly......

Thanks for the response, I am not very knowlegable about the saints...I still wonder the rarity of this item. I just can't see a commorative bat being worth so much.

I'm not a saints and and don't collect saints items. If it's a charity auction I can see them inflating the "value" for bidding purposes. I guess he may have set a single game nfl mark for all purpose yards and the saints gave him the bat., he donated it to the auction (if its a charity). It's one of a kind I would assume. If I bought a ticket and won I would sell it on ebay. I would not set my reserve at 2k though LOL. I could see it selling for $500-750 in a shop like chucks if it is one of a kind and has a back story similar to the one I laid out.
